UX/UI Branding

Vittrip

A virtual shopping platform that lets users explore their favorite stores in 360°, browse the product catalog, and buy — all from their phone.

Vittrip

Context

In Cali, many people visit shopping centers to buy and discover new trends in fashion, technology and more. Because of this, two people set out to create a mobile app that lets users visit their favorite stores through 360° tours, contact an advisor via online chat, and observe and buy any product in the store.

Problem
  • People prefer to make their purchases through platforms such as Mercado Libre, without leaving home.
  • In Cali, many people stopped visiting shopping malls frequently due to transportation difficulties and lack of time.
Project goals
  • Improve people's experience visiting stores virtually.
  • Let users observe and buy any product in the store.
  • Enable real-time communication with store staff through online chat.
Research

A survey was conducted with 20 people between the ages of 18 and 30 in Santiago de Cali, to understand how often they visited shopping malls, why, and what inconveniences they ran into.

  1. 84% of people visit shopping malls often.
  2. 60% visit shopping malls just to see new fashion and technology trends.
  3. 40% only visit shopping malls to buy.
  4. 100% would like to visit shopping malls virtually and shop.

Visual identity

The first task was to name the product — after a brainstorm, the chosen name was "Vittrip," a mix of a Spanish and an English word (Vitrina + Trip), where Vitrina means storefront.

For the logo, I used a location pin with the V of Vittrip, since the app shows users their nearest shopping malls, and I chose purple for what it conveys: luxury, wisdom and innovation.
